So I grew up in central Washington in the Cascade Mountains, so I have always been fondly familiar with the local amphibian population. I was very excited when this project arose. Over the course of a year I traveled with Central Washington University graduate student Amber Miles, crawling through the muck, mud, snow and thorns to catch, tag, and track these little buggers. Local middle school students were also involved with Amber’s research, showing the benefit of in-the-field science education.
